Updates on “Conditions of Use of SmartPLAY”
27 Mar 2026Issued at HKT 16:00
The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) is committed to combatting the abuse of the SmartPLAY system involving the use of computer programs or automated tools to interfere with the normal operation of the system or make booking transactions, in order to safeguard the fair use of SmartPLAY. The LCSD has added to the “Conditions of Use of SmartPLAY” provisions prohibiting the use of computer programs or automated tools to make bookings. With effect from 21 January 2026, users in breach of the relevant Conditions of Use will have their accounts suspended for 360 days without prior notice. Once the account is suspended, the user will not be able to log in to the system, book leisure facilities or enrol in recreation and sports programmes.
In addition, the LCSD reminds users again that they must comply with all of the “Conditions of Use of SmartPLAY” and properly manage their account information. A user shall not disclose his/her account number and password to another person. If a user has disclosed his/her account information to the others, he/she must change the password as soon as possible and on a regular basis to prevent the account from being compromised.
