  1. Registered users may book sports and recreation facilities or enrol in sports and recreation programmes by using SmartPLAY booking service via mobile app or the internet or by visiting self-service stations at any District Leisure Services Office or leisure venues.

  2. When registered users book facilities or enrol in programmes on SmartPLAY via mobile app or the internet, they shall provide his/her SmartPLAY user ID or alias and password for identity verification. Alternatively, they can scan his/her Hong Kong Identity Card or use “iAM Smart” mobile app to log in the system via self-service stations.

  3. 14-day advance booking through SmartPLAY system balloting: for bookings of turf soccer pitches and non-fee charging hard-surface ball courts, balloting applications can be submitted 14 to 20 days prior to the date of use of the facilities, with the application deadline being 14 days before the day of use. For example, the balloting application for facilities available on 20 January 2024 can be submitted from 1 to 7 January 2024, with the application deadline being 7 January.

  4. 7-day advance booking (for sessions not taken up by block bookings or remaining available sessions after online balloting): recreation and sports facilities as well as water sports equipment at water sports centres can be booked up to 7 days in advance of the day of use, inclusive of the day of making the booking. Sports and recreation programmes are open for enrolment during the enrolment period of the respective programme.

  5. Bookings for camp places of holiday camps and Chong Hing Water Sports Centre shall be made three months in advance via balloting. For example, online applications for balloting of camp places available in September 2024 should be submitted between 1 and 31 May 2024. From 8:30 am on the 20th day of each month, registered users (except temporary users) can book camp places remaining from balloting that are available in the next 10 days to next two/three months. SmartPLAY temporary users can only book camp places available in the next 10 days. 
  6. If there is any change of personal information, SmartPLAY users can login to update their personal profile.
  7. Bookings or enrolments are subject to availability of the recreation and sports facilities to be booked or quotas of the sports and recreation programmes.
  8. Hirers/applicants should abide by all rules and/or conditions as stipulated in the booking procedures for the use of sports and recreation facilities and holiday camps, or the enrolment procedures for sports and recreation programmes, as the case may be.
  9. Hirers/applicants using the SmartPLAY via mobile app or internet will have their booking/enrolment confirmed upon online payment, which can be made by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Union Pay or JCB), electronic payment (Apple Pay or Google Pay) or through PPS/Faster Payment System.
  10. Facility bookings or programme enrolments at self-service stations are confirmed immediately upon payment by Octopus.
  11. Visitors or persons granted temporary stay in Hong Kong may register as SmartPLAY Temporary Users (STU). After submission of the online application form, registrants should go to the SmartPLAY Services Centre in person for registration procedures, where they should produce the original and a copy of their valid photo-bearing travel document and the landing slip for identity verification. Registrants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by their parent or guardian for the registration process.

  12. The STU account is valid for a period in accordance with the permitted stay period of the visit or six months, whichever is shorter. For renewal of the STU account, users should bring along the original and a copy of their valid photo-bearing travel document and the landing slip for renewal procedures at the SmartPLAY Services Centre before their account expires.
  13. If any SmartPLAY user/STU is found to have furnished false information or failed to observe the “Conditions of Use of SmartPLAY”, the LCSD has the discretion to cancel his/her account or suspend his/her account for 180 days.
  14. A SmartPLAY user/STU shall not disclose his/her User Account Number and password to others. In light of the Government's latest security guidelines, users are required to change their passwords every six months.
  15. The LCSD reserves the right to add, delete or amend any clause in the “Conditions of Use of SmartPLAY” any time without giving any reasons and prior notice.
